DBE Toolbox for Teachers

Brainstorming is a tool to generate ideas for a DBE project, explore different perspectives and identify the core of a wider problem. It involves free-form discussion and idea generation to better understand the problem at hand. It can be used at any stage of a DBE project.

Reflecting on the value proposition helps to understand how well the product, service or solution being developed in a DBE project meets the needs of the people for whom it is designed. It identifies two key areas: the customer profile (what users need, their pain points and what they want) and the value map (how the solution meets those needs, alleviates customer frustration and delivers value).

Service Blueprint is a tool to map and visualise all the elements involved in delivering a service. It simultaneously makes visible what the user experiences and what the service provider needs to do to deliver the service. It helps to identify where there are problems with the service and what needs to be improved. The Service Blueprint tool can also be used to reflect on the sustainability impact of the service.
