    This course is part of the Global Sustainability 15 credits module. Please note that this 2 credits course replaces the 5 credits course  "Cross cultural communication" in the global sustainability module! This course has been modified so I am grateful if you let me know about any errors.


    The students become acquainted with key theories of culture and cultural communication. The students can differentiate between possible differences and similarities in their own culture and others' cultures. The students can recognize cultural barriers, non-verbal communication and identify cultural values.

    This is a NON-STOP course. You can start this course anytime and do the exercises with your own time schedule. Please note however that this moodle platform will close in at the end of  July 2025 for updates, (a new one will be opened in May 2025, if Africa challenges continue in 2025-2026).

    The course consist of 4 parts:
    - Introduction to communication across cultures
    - Cultural barriers

    - Non-verbal communication
    - Cultural values

    All the parts include exercises and one compulsory discussion forum topic. The course grade comes from the final exam which is possible to do after all the other parts have been finished.

    In autumn term the course is graded at the end of each (working) month). In spring term, the grading days are the following:
